Here’s what game tournaments will be hosted at Rush 2019

As expected, Rush is hosting multiple esports tournaments at this year’s event at the Sun Arena from 28-30 June, with player registration opening up soon on its website.

The list of tournaments that will be taking place includes:

  • CSGO [PC: 5 vs 5]
  • DOTA 2 [PC: 5 vs 5]
  • StarCraft II [PC: 1 vs 1]
  • Hearthstone [PC: 1 vs 1]
  • FIFA 19 [PS4: 1 vs 1]
  • Tekken 7 [PS4: 1 vs 1]
  • Fortnite [Mobile]

FAQ

Is there an age restriction to attend Rush?

All ages are welcome to spectate but please do note that some of the games that are being played may be age restricted and are not suitable for younger audiences. Some of the tournaments that will be hosted do carry an age restriction in order to participate/enter.

How do I enter a Rush gaming tournament?

Do I need to purchase a ticket if I am competing in a gaming tournament?

All registered players are required to purchase a Player Pass at a cost of R250 per person.

What does my ticket include?

Full access for all three days to all activities, displays and attractions at Rush and GeekFest.

Are tickets refundable?

All tickets purchased are strictly non-refundable.

Do I need to bring my own devices if I am competing in a gaming tournament?

No, all gaming equipment will be supplied/sponsored. If you have any questions on this you can get in touch with the Tournament Organiser once you have received your confirmation of registration.

Will there be prizes for competing in a gaming tournament?

Yes. Prize information and details will be announced soon.

Do I need to be at the venue in order to compete in a gaming tournament?

Yes. All players/teams are required to appear in person on one or all of the days. Competing online/remotely will not be allowed.

Will there be food and drink at the venue?

There is food and drink available to purchase inside the venue from dedicated food stalls. There will also be food trucks and a craft beer garden at GeekFest.

What if I have friends or family who want to come and watch me compete?

They will either need to buy a Rush Day Pass or a Weekend Pass ticket, which will give them access to Rush and to Geekfest.
