Mettlestate to host six tournaments at Rush 2019, including four World Electronic Sports Games qualifiers

Local esports org Mettlestate, in collaboration with Rush and Vodacom 4U, will host six events at the annual Rush event next month, including – for the first time! – the LAN semi-finals and finals of the South African national World Electronic Sports Games (WESG) qualifiers for Dota 2, StarCraft 2, Hearthstone, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on PC. The winners of the finals at Rush will represent South Africa at the 2020 WESG Grand Finals in China.

”Mettlestate are entering their third year running the WESG national qualifiers, and couldn’t be more excited to host the LAN finals for the first time at Rush 2019. WESG is a big tournament for South Africans, as it is one of the few opportunities for our players to get abroad and test their mettle against other countries teams from around the world,” says Mettlestate’s Barry Louzada.

“Rush has quickly proven itself to be one of the esports highlights on the South African calendar, and has seen impressive growth year on year. Having the finals at Rush allows us the opportunity to be able to see the best teams in the country fight it out on a big stage, and is something no one should want to miss!”

Mettlestate is also hosting a FIFA 19 competition on PS4, and a Fortnite Kill-Race competition on mobile, both sponsored by Vodacom 4U.
