Starting on 4 June, the game’s third expansion and next big event introduces multiple new features, including the new Crown of Sorrows raid, new missions and Moments of Triumph, and – most intriguingly, perhaps – an entirely new six-player activity, the Menagerie.
What exactly it is hasn’t been explained, but from the trailer up top, it looks like a mashup of the original Destiny’s Prison of Elders and Court of Oryx, and Destiny 2’s Escalation Protocol and Blind Well. So, expect lots of bad guys and lots of loot. More of the same, maybe, but different because you get to choose your prizes.
Calus would see you grow stronger through The Chalice of Opulence, which serves as a Guardians gateway to treasure in the Season of Opulence. Players who best the Menagerie, a new six player matchmade activity, will use the Chalice to create an offering of runes in exchange for the specific weapons and armor that they seek. Over time, Guardians will be able to upgrade the Chalice to acquire more plentiful and powerful rewards.
The Season of Opulence content will be available with a sold-separately purchase of Destiny 2’s Annual Pass.
