Tesla CEO Elon Musk has revealed that the game will be available in the Tesla Model 3, Model S and Model X in the next few months.
“When Tesla reached out to us to bring Cuphead to their vehicles, we were thrilled!” Studio MDHR’s Maja Moldenhauer tells IGN. “Finding out that Mr. Musk was a fan of our game was extremely humbling and getting a chance to work with such an innovative company has been really exciting. We hope Cuphead can add some classic fun to such forward-thinking vehicles.”
Last October, the company added a selection of Atari games as an Easter egg, so this isn’t the first time they’ve brought games to their vehicles. But recently, they’ve been working on porting Unity and Unreal Engine as well – which is by no means a small feat. However, as big as the Tesla cars are, they’re not so big on storage, posing a significant challenge. As a result, Cuphead enthusiasts who happen to own the vehicle can only play through Inkwell Isle One – bummer for some of you, but at least you own a Tesla.
Cuphead is known for its insane difficulty, so this probably won’t make the experience of driving a Tesla any more soothing. However, it definitely makes for good onboard entertainment – so long as you remember that your Tesla is a car, not a console.
