Django/Zorro comic is getting a film adaptation as sequel to Django Unchained

Tarantino’s Django/Zorro comic is going to be a movie

I didn’t even know there was a Django/Zorro crossover comic, co-written by Quentin Tarantino and Matt Wagner, but it’s getting a film adaptation, that Tarantino is developing alongside Jerrod Carmichael (The Carmichael Show), so it’s time to get educated.

The first issue of the Django/Zorro comic series is an official sequel to 2012’s Django Unchained, taking place several years after the events of the film. Django takes up bounty hunting for a living and encounters the aged Diego de la Vega (AKA Zorro) in the American Southwest. Due to the wealthy white guy’s badassery, and lack of concern for the colour of his skin, Django teams up with him in a fight to free the indigenous people from slavery. It’s the buddy cop western you never knew you needed.

There’s very little information about the new film so far, except that the script is being written by Carmichael, possibly with assistance from Tarantino. Nobody knows if Jaimie Foxx will return to the role, but I’d hope so. Equally, nobody knows if Tarantino will direct.

I like Zorro, I like Django, I’m intrigued. Anybody else?
