Watch Dogs Legion leaks, promises a “post-Brexit” dystopia
An Amazon UK listing has inadvertently revealed that Watch Dogs Legion is Ubisoft’s next installment in the franchise – the cat, or should I say dog, is definitely out of the bag now.
According to the leak, the game will take place in a “near-future, dystopian version” of London, specifically in a “post-Brexit world in which society, politics and technology have changed and altered London’s fortunes.” This is fitting, considering the UK’s current reputation for abysmally high levels of surveillance systems – the UK once boasted one surveillance camera for every 32 people.
Watch Dogs Legion comes with an exciting new feature that allows you to play as any NPC you recruit in the game’s environment. “Every individual you meet in the open world, has a full set of animations, voice over, character traits and visuals that are generated & guided by gameplay systems” the description states. This feature may sound a bit far-fetched to some of you, and rightfully so. According to Kotaku, this particular feature is so ambitious that it might have even caused a delay and numerous headaches for the developers.
Despite all the puns about cats, dogs and pretty much everything in between that I could come up with, this is pretty great news. Hopefully, we’ll hear more about Watch Dogs Legion at E3, fingers crossed.
