Although EA didn’t host its own press conference at E3 this year, the publisher did host a series of livestreams to make up for it, including a Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order gameplay debut, FIFA 20’s Volta street sportsballs mode, new Apex Legends, Battlefield V, and The Sims 4 content, and more (but not Dragon Age 4).
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order introduces Saw Gerrera
As expected, Respawn Entertainment’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was one of EA’s marquee features, with a 15-minute gameplay debut video that – not so expected, perhaps – introduces Rogue One’s Saw Gerrera as one of protagonist Cal Kestis’s co-stars. Also, lightsabers, droids, and space-magic.
Game’s out on 15 November on PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
FIFA Street is back (kind of)
EA’s FIFA 20 is more of the same, maybe, but also includes a Volta street football single-player campaign and multiplayer modes with venues in Amsterdam, London, and Tokyo.
Game’s out on 27 September on PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
Get ready for more Apex Legends
The game’s next season starts on 2 July, with a new Battle Pass, a new ranked mode, the new L-Star plasma gun, new cosmetics, and new character Natalie “Wattson” Paquette, an electrical engineer whose skills will shock you. Shock. Get it? Because she’s an electrical engineer. My mom thinks I’m hilarious.
New Battlefield maps prepping for deployment
DICE is launching four new maps for the game, starting with Al Sundan (North Africa) in June, and Marita (Greece) in July. Lofoten Islands (Norway) and Provence (France) will be available sometime after that, ahead of Battlefield V’s Pacific theatre update in October. In between, players can expect a max rank boost from 50 to 500, and new private game lobbies.
The Sims 4 goes to the beach
The game’s new Island Living expansion launches on 21 June on PC, and 16 July on consoles, featuring new fun-in-the-sun activities like swimming and snorkelling. Also, mermaids.
