House House, a tiny, four-person, indie developer, confirmed that their delightfully ridiculous Untitled Goose Game will be a timed Epic Games Store exclusive for PC, at E3 2019, so obviously people are complaining about it, because HOW DARE THEY. Much like geese, people are the worst.
House House responded to the criticism with some completely reasonable justification for something they shouldn’t have to justify in the first place.
A little context: House House is a small independent studio that has been operating on a tight budget for years, so a partnership like this gives us a means to make games sustainably for the foreseeable future — in an industry like ours, this kind of stability is huge.
These are the sort of little companies, making interesting games, that we should be supporting, but instead you get people vowing to never buy the game, on any platform, ever, as if the developers came in and personally kicked all of their puppies. Yes, I realise that people being terrible on the internet isn’t exactly news.
Untitled Goose Game is a slapstick stealth game that let’s you terrorise a small village as an obnoxious goose. Its release date was meant to be earlier this year, but it got pushed back due to unforeseen circumstances. When it does come out, it will be for PC and Nintendo Switch.
