Want to flap birds with a bunch of random strangers, if you know what I mean? Flappy Royale is pretty much what you think it is; competitive Flappy Bird, because, if you don’t have a royale mode, are you even a game?
Flappy Royale, a collaboration between Orta Therox and Em Lazer-Walker, is essentially Flappy Bird, but with 98 ghost strangers along for the journey, so you do the same thing as you do in Flappy Bird (flap, don’t hit things) surrounded by other people. Now’s your chance to figure out how your feeble attempts at guiding a bird through a hole compare to others in real time. FUN.
Because this is a royale, you and all your little ghost friends, have to jump out of a flying school bus before it smashes into the closest pipe, then flap for the few seconds that it takes for you to meet your inevitable demise, while the ghost corpses of your brethren begin littering the ground. Don’t worry, you’ll join them soon, or, if you’re me, you’ll be the first to fall.
The original Flappy Bird creator, Dong Nguyen, removed his game from the App Store and Google Play in 2014 because he felt it was too addictive. Nobody tell him about Flappy Royale.
You can play Flappy Royale right from your PC, where your work used to live, here.
