Stranger Things 3: The Game is out now like it’s 1985

Just in time for the show’s third season premiere on Netflix this week, BonusXP is dialling that ’80s* nostalgia to maximum super-mega-turbo with the launch of its retro RPG on PC, Xbox One, PS4, Switch, and mobile.

The game features solo and split-screen, two-player co-op modes, with 12 characters from the show to unlock and “delve into dangerous laboratories and hideouts, solve puzzles, search for treasure, and battle evils from the Upside-Down”, which presumably doesn’t include #justiceforbarb. The plot corresponds with events from the new season, however, so maybe skip it until you’ve finished with that first.

* I mean, the game’s aesthetic is totally ’90s. But even nostalgia has limits.
