Call of Duty Modern Warfare

Customise your Modern Warfare weapons with new Gunsmithing feature

Activision has been feeding us little bits of information about the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, in the lead up to its gameplay premiere on 1 August. Last time it was the 2v2 multiplayer mode, Gunfight, this time it’s the Gunsmithing feature.

Gunsmithing is a weapons customisation feature for multiplayer modes that lets you personalise your primary and secondary weapons. Activision recently released a little teaser video about it.

You don’t get to go crazy and make everything extra rad, though, you can only customise up to five parts. Assault rifles, for example, have nine augmentation options: the muzzle, lasers, optic, stock, rear grip, magazine, underbarrel, barrel, or a perk. You’ll have to have a think about your play style and what you really want.

Everyone loves a good custom weapon, just don’t get your hopes up for any rainbow iridescence. We have Borderlands for that.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is set for release on 25 October for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
