Over the weekend, EA sent out private invites for gamers to playtest a new Plants vs Zombies shooter codenamed “Picnic”, more or less confirming that PvZ: Garden Warfare 3 is a thing.
In the invites, EA stressed that players should keep the information to themselves, stipulating the severity of the consequences that would arise should players not respect this warning. So naturally, like the upstanding citizens of the world that they are, people took to the internet and posted about it like crazy on Reddit. The game will include two modes called Team Vanquish and Turf Takeover, however, no further details about these are currently known.
According to the invites, the alpha playtest will take place between 1 and 6 August of this year, and will be available for both Xbox One and PS4. On the first two days, it will run from 11:00 to 15:00 (Pacific time), after which the playtest will begin again at 11:00 until it ends at the same time on the final day. Fortunately, EA hasn’t weeded out the leakers, so we’ll most likely get more information on this soon. If anybody asks, you heard this through the grapevine.
