Responding to multiple allegations of abuse from both former girlfriends and friends of the controversial voice actor last week, Nintendo will replace Chris Niosi’s lines from Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem Heroes with a new voice actor.
In light of the accusations, Niosi took to Tumblr to post an official public apology for damage control, confessing that he had “horribly mistreated and abused friends”, amongst other things.
“After assessing the situation, we decided to rerecord the character’s voiceovers in Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem Heroes with another actor,” Nintendo announced at the time. “The new voiceovers will be included in a future patch.”
Nintendo has since replaced Niosi’s voice in the mobile game Fire Emblem Heroes with voice actor Zach Aguilar (One Punch Man, Hunter X Hunter). Niosi’s credit is no longer on the game’s character page, as it currently features the new voice actor instead – ouch. In Fire Emblem, Niosi was Byleth’s voice actor. Additionally, he is well known for his work on other franchises like Octopath Traveler and Ok KO. Currently, there is no word on when the new patch is coming out but it should be soon enough.
