We’re getting a prequel series to the John Wick pupper vengeance saga, which Keanu Reeves is going to executive produce, but will he actually be in it? Starz CEO Jeffrey Hirsch could tell us, but he’s not gonna.
For those who hadn’t noticed, the John Wick films are kind of a big deal, raking in $580 million in combined earnings, and playing a large part in the Reevesaissance that’s going on right now. There’s a fourth film coming in May 2021 and, after that, there will also be a TV series.
All we know about the series, so far, is that it will be a prequel focusing on the Continental, the hotel that (usually) acts as a safe space for weary assassins. Apparently, the series is set way before the events of John Wick so it’ll be an entirely different landscape than the one we’re used to and, so, if Keanu Reeves is in it, Wick would not be our beloved vengeserker either. He’d probably just be a super-rad assassin in a suit. Oh no, however will we cope?
That’s if Reeves is even in it. When asked, Hirsch refused to answer, suggesting that:
No answer is as good a tease as you’re going to get.
Which would be really creepy in any other context.
