Ninja dumps Twitch, starts going out with Mixer

Streaming superstar Tyler “Ninja” Blevins has broken up with long-time partner Twitch, he confirmed on Twitter last night, and is now in an exclusive relationship with Mixer.

Launched as Beam in 2016, and subsequently rebranded Mixer in 2017, Microsoft’s streaming platform has lagged behind its competitors, with approximately 70,000 streamers versus Twitch’s 1.5 million – although according to StreamLabs, Mixer has generated an “explosive” view time increase of about 375% since its debut. And with almost 15 million subscribers, a lot of whom will probably now also tune in to his Mixer channel, Ninja is a significant, and – perhaps more importantly – influential acquisition. At publish time, his new Mixer channel has 245,405 subscribers, making Ninja one of the platform’s top ten streamers. Not a bad start.
