Zombieland: Double Tap is getting a video game before the movie’s release

GameMill Entertainment and High Voltage Software have announced Zombieland: Double Tap – Road Trip, a top-down twin-stick shooter coming to the PS4, PC, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Cool, another video game based on a successful movie franchise. There’s no way this could go wrong – right?

The game’s roster features pretty much all characters from both movies, and includes local co-op for up to four players, as well as a story mode, a wave-based horde mode, and exhilarating daily/weekly mission objectives like “find a (clean…ish) public bathroom”. Each character has their own special abilities, and players can choose from a multitude of devastating weapons to kick zombie butt. Unfortunately, the studios haven’t revealed a trailer for the game just yet but in the meantime, please enjoy these screenshots of the game on Twitter and a complimentary pretend Twinkie.

The game launches on 15 October, a couple of days before Zombieland: Double Tap, which comes out on 18 October this year. Heads up, though – the game may contain some spoilers about the sequel, so you’ve been warned.
