Princess Bean is back for a second season of the fantasy Futurama series that is Disenchantment. This time, things are really going to hell.
For the unfamiliar, Disenchantment follows functional alcoholic Princess Bean and her misadventures in the kingdom of Dreamland, accompanied by Elfo the half-elf and Luci her personal demon. It’s an adult-orientated, satirical fantasy series created by Matt Groening, the man behind The Simpsons and Futurama.
Disenchantment Part 2 takes place directly after the events of the first season, when things went very awry. Some people are dead, others are evil, and others are apparently more badass than we originally assumed. There’s a lot going on in Part 2. We’ll also get to see more than just Dreamland and its surrounds and delve deeper into the world’s mythology, as Bean fights to save her friends and kingdom.
Even if Disenchantment hasn’t gained the same attention as Groening’s other works, it’s very much worth a watch. And that’s a pretty epic cover of Blondie’s Call Me.
Disenchantment returns to Netflix on 20 September.
