Moons of Madness creeps out from behind the stars

Funcom and Rock Pocket Games’ cosmic horror-’em-up has launched on PC, promising “a game that touches on your inner struggles, as well as the threats you face from the outside, in true Lovecraftian manner”. Cue ominous music.

As protagonist and engineer Shane Newehart, your job is to maintain the basic support systems in a remote Martian research facility. I mean, it was until now.

“After awakening from a disconcerting dream – you begin to realise that you may be in over your head,” the game’s blurb explains. “You’re quickly going to have to rely on your calm, your problem-solving skills and your ability to outrun terrifying creatures, as you delve deeper and deeper into a world of fear, conspiracy and madness.”

Also, tentacles. Lots of tentacles.

Moons of Madness is available to purchase on Steam for R199, with a limited time 20 percent discount until 29 October.
