Mobile Apex Legends might launch next year

Apex Legends, the highly profitable reason why you won’t be seeing Titanfall 3 anytime soon, will be getting a mobile release some time towards the end of next year, at best. That still counts as next year, right?

A good few months ago, EA mentioned that they would be expanding Apex Legends onto mobile devices, but they didn’t say when. Now, on their most recent earnings call, EA’s chief executive Andrew Wilson provided a time frame, saying that mobile Apex Legends won’t be available until their 2021 fiscal year. Since EA’s 2021 fiscal year starts in October 2020, that’s probably the earliest possible time we could see the mobile version launch.

This means you’ll be able to play Apex Legends on your phone or tablet in about a year, maybe. This also means it can compete with the other battle royale behemoths, Fortnite and PUBG, on yet another platform. If you were hoping mobile might also mean a port for the Nintendo Switch, sorry, but it doesn’t look like that’s happening anytime soon.
