Red Dead Redemption 2 Gang

PC Red Dead Redemption 2 out today if you got it from Rockstar or Epic

If you haven’t already preloaded it, you may only be playing tomorrow, since the download is about 112GB. You got fibre, right? Right??

Red Dead Redemption 2 for the PC will be available to play, for those that purchased it via the Rockstar Games Launcher or the Epic Games Store, today from 15:00 SAST. It’s been available to preload for a good couple of days already, though. And good thing, too, since it’s about 112GB and requires 150GB free hard drive space. Although, you should probably free up a little extra for all the updates. If you’re holding out for the Steam release, it won’t be available until some time in December.

You will also want to update your Nvidia or AMD drivers, while you’re at it, since both have released updates to help optimise your Red Dead Redemption 2 experience. You do want the shiniest pony, don’t you?

If you’ve already got the console version and thought about moseying over to the PC, be aware that you’ll have to start your Online character from level one again, as there is no option to transfer existing characters. There will also be no cross-platform play.

Welcome, PC players. May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be at your back, and may you get to play Online for more than 10 minutes before being kicked “due to a fault on Rockstar game services”.
