Halo The Master Chief Collection

Halo: Reach and Halo: The Master Chief Collection out now on PC

For the first time in over 10 years, Master Chief is back on PC, clocking more than 160,000 concurrent players and a “very positive” user review average on Steam.

Launched at 20:00 local time last night, Halo: Reach makes its New! Improved! Now with keyboard and mouse support! debut next to Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, and Halo 4 in the Halo: The Master Chief Collection combo-mega-deal, and features optimisations and custom configs for PC. It’s available on Steam, the Microsoft Store, and as a first-party game, it’s also included in the Xbox Game Pass for PC library so subscribers can get it free-for-R159-per-month.

Despite the inevitable “halo sux lol console sux lol ur mom sux lol” claims from PC gamers who’ve never played a Halo game, didn’t get an Xbox for Xmas, and (probably) don’t even know your mom, Halo’s re-introduction to PC has been a yoink for Microsoft and 343 Industries, boosting into Steam’s top three most-played games within hours of its drop. At publish time, it’s slipped to number seven, with 59,035 players plugged in.
