Unite what’s left of the Gelfling clans of Thra and engage in tactics-based combat the Netflix prequel was unable to incorporate due to puppetry limitations. Onwards to your inevitable doom! For Thra!
In The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance Tactics, you will be leading the fledgling Gelfling resistance against their evil overlords, and childhood nightmare fuel, the Skesis. There are 14 playable characters (some of which come from the Netflix series and the original movie) and you will be able to customise your units with specific equipment, and abilities, to maximise your strategic advantage over 50 unique, turn-based battles in dynamic environments.
Maybe arm all the lady-Gelfling with fire arrows and have them rain unrelenting death down upon their enemies. Just saying…
It’s unclear where this game fits into Netflix’s prequel series plot (it could just be an alter-dimensional spinoff), but the artwork and screenshots suggest it takes place before the end of the first season. I’d provide more details, but that would spoil things for people still intending to watch the show.
The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance Tactics is set for release on 4 February 2020 for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch.
