If you miss Aliens vs. Predator (the game, not the movie…) or Evolve, you might be into whatever Predator: Hunting Grounds has to give. Also, there’s a female Predator, now, because it’s almost 2020 and the ladies are getting it done.
With its release date revealed as part of PlayStation’s final State of Play broadcast for 2019, Predator: Hunting Grounds is an asymmetrical co-op shooter, in a similar vein to Dead by Daylight and Evolve, that lets you play either as part of a plucky band of elite meatbags paramilitary soldiers or as a single Predator.
Gameplay is pretty straight forward; the soldiers want to complete their mission and GET TO THE CHOPPA, while the Predator wants to expand their decor options by gathering trophy heads. The Predator comes in three class types, Scout, Hunter, and Berserker (the latter two unlocked via gameplay), with each class having specific skills for different play styles. No matter what class you choose, somebody’s getting dismembered, with all manner of classic Predator tricks and weaponry up your fishnets.
The soldiers also get class types and cool gear, but their most important weapon is team work.
Predator: Hunting Grounds is set for release on 24 April 2020 for PC and PlayStation 4.
