Forza Horizon 4 just got a new, free, battle royale mode, called The Eliminator, so buckle up and put foot – it’s gonna be a bumpy ride.
In The Eliminator, up to 72 players compete against each other in head-to-head races, across the English countryside, in order to eliminate each other. Everyone starts with low-level cars that you upgrade by winning challenges. You challenge another participating player by hooting at them (just like in real life), which immediately starts a race to a marked spot on the map. The loser is kicked out, while the winner gets to upgrade their ride and continue. There are 10 levels of upgrades to get, from Mini Coopers to Lamborghinis. However, other players can interfere with your challenges and the arena walls are constantly constricting.
Once the arena shrinks to a certain point, a final finish line will appear and the surviving players must make a death-dash for ultimate victory. Matches are said to last about 15 minutes.
I’m not even particularly into racing games, but this actually looks like a lot of fun.
The Eliminator game mode is currently will be available to play from 20:00 SAST today (yay time zones…) in Forza Horizon 4, which is exclusive to PC and Xbox One.
