Mythic Quest

Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet has Abed in it, so it can’t be that bad

Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet is Apple TV’s attempt at cracking a comedy series about the games development industry and it doesn’t look completely terrible.

Ubisoft’s Gérard Guillemot is even one of the executive producers, so at least there’s some potential for the series to have some grounding in reality. Which might be nice, after years of TV “geeks” mashing their laptop keyboards in an attempt to simulate the act of playing teh gamez.

The trailer probably won’t have you ROFLMAOing out the door, but there were a few glimmers of comedic potential. Without the context of the rest of the episode, that tired dismissal of Women’s Studies as a joke earned a major eye roll, though. Hopefully, there’s more to that scene than just the usual feminists-be-crazy narrative.

The cast includes Rob McElhenney, F. Murray Abraham, Danny Pudi, Imani Hakim, Charlotte Nicadao, David Hornsby, and Ashly Burch (voice actress for Life is Strange, The Outer Worlds, and Borderlands 3).

Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet is set for release on Apple TV on 7 February 2020.
