Cyberpunk 2077 delayed until September

In this week’s edition of Worst News Ever, CD Projekt Red has confirmed that the game is missing its expected April launch date by five months (!) because “there’s still work to be done”.

The studio announced the delay on Twitter, explaining that although the game is “complete and playable” at the moment, it’s not ready to go to the printers.

We are currently at a stage where the game is complete and playable, but there’s still work to be done. Night City is massive – full of stories, content and places to visit, but due to the sheer scale and complexity of it all, we need more time to finish playtesting, fixing and polishing. We want Cyberpunk 2077 to be our crowning achievement for this generation and postponing launch will give us the precious months we need to make the game perfect.

The game is now scheduled to launch on 17 September instead. Unless it’s delayed again. I’m not jinxing it.
