Borderlands 3 Broken Hearts Day

Nothing breaks like a heart in new Borderlands 3 seasonal event

Hey, heartbreaker, dream maker… love taker, you don’t want to mess around when it comes to Borderlands 3’s new limited time event, because Broken Hearts Day won’t last forever. The new level cap will, though.

From 14 February at 01:00 AM SAST (yay timezones…) until 21 February, floating hearts will start appearing all across the galaxy. Shoot them down, in the name of science, to earn rewards from Maurice. The more hearts you break, the greater the glory – just like real life!

10 – “ECHOcardiogram” ECHO Skin
25 – “Cosmic Romance” Weapon Trinket
50 – “Terminal Polyaimorous” Legendary Maliwan SMG
75 – “Heartbreaker” Vault Hunter Skin
100 – “Wedding Invitation” Legendary Jakobs Sniper Rifle

There will be different heart variants with associated effects, from raining down fiery death, to turning your enemies into friends, to dropping loot, and more.

If you want to go about your vault hunting without the event meddling with your loot-run schedule, you will be able to toggle it on and off from the main menu after selecting Play. Gearbox learned their lesson after the Bloody Harvest.

But that’s not all, you can also look forward to a new level cap to coincide with Broken Hearts Day. It’s going up from 50 to… 53! There’s also a big patch coming in February that promises skippable cut-scenes, guardian rank toggling, performance and stability improvements, Mayhem 2.0, and all manner of other things. We’ll be hearing more about Borderlands 3’s future at PAX East on 27 February.

Get out there and break some hearts, Vault Hunter.
