The current soft Power cap in Destiny 2 is 960, but, with Season of the Worthy, that will increase to 1,000 with powerful gear drops and pinnacle drops will get you up to 1,010. Due to the adjustment, you won’t need powerful rewards to get to 950, if you haven’t reached that already, and every drop, that isn’t powerful or pinnacle, will increase your level. Around mid-season, Bungie also intends to increase the number of pinnacle power sources, increase pinnacle drop access, and increase the number of items that can drop pinnacle-level rewards.
Trials of Osiris will also return with the new season and Bungie recently announced, after player outcry, that the weekends-only event will disable Artifact Power levels so that victories are based more on skill. This also applies to the monthly Iron Banner event. However, this change didn’t make it to the season launch, so Artifact Power levels will probably only be disabled for Trials when a fix is applied on 17 March. At least it should only impact the first weekend. Bungie intends to implement a new Power cap system for both events in the near future.
Destiny 2’s Season of the Worthy begins on 10 March and will end on 9 June 2020.
