Lovecraft Country

Lovecraft Country mixes Lovecraftian horror with racism, some more I mean

They had me at Jordan Peele.

Lovecraft Country is an upcoming HBO series based on a novel, of the same name, that was inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft and racism in late 19th century America.

The 10-episode horror-drama series takes place in the USA in the 1950s and follows Atticus Freeman (Jonathan Majors), his friend Letitia Dandridge (Jurnee Smollett-Bell), and his Uncle George (Courtney B. Vance) as they embark on  a road trip to find Freeman’s missing father. Along with the usual racism, they’ll have to deal with Lovecraftian horrors, because monsters can come in many forms etc.

The series was created by Misha Green (Underground) and Jordan Peele (Get Out, Us). J.J. Abrams serves as one of the executive producers.

Lovecraft Country is set for release some time in August 2020.
