If the lockdown has got you feeling like actual civilisation is crumbling around you, Sid Meier’s Civilization VI may be the perfect distraction. It’s also currently free, so there’s that.
Originally launched in 2016, Civilization VI continues the iconic, turn-based strategy series with new civilisations to play, new features to explore, and new AI mechanics to introduce a little disruptive chaos into your otherwise stable progress towards global domination.
Choose your civilisation, and your leader, and set out to expand across the globe as you take your people from the Stone Age to the Information Age. There are multiple roads to victory, including war (so hot right now), diplomacy, and cultural advancement, but there will be rival leaders, with their own hidden agendas, to test you at every turn.
You can also cooperate or compete with friends using a variety of multiplayer modes.
Civilization VI will be free on the Epic Games Store until 28 May 2020. The free version does not include any expansions or DLC.
