Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad) goes for maximum child endangerment as dictator Anton Castillo in Far Cry 6. Also, did I ever tell you the definition of a prequel?
Far Cry 6 takes place in the fictional, timeless tropical paradise of Yara, which is in the middle of a bloody revolution. You play as Dani Rojas, a local Yaran immersed in the guerilla warfare being waged against Castillo’s tyrannical rule, with the help of Chorizo the tactical offence wiener dog (not shown here). Take to the sprawling streets of Esperanza in an all-out brawl, go the tactical route with some sneaky subterfuge, or bring a horse to a tank fight – you do you.
Then, there’s Castillo’s son Diego who is sporting an eyebrow scar very similar to the one villain Vaas has in Far Cry 3, leading fans to suspect that Far Cry 6 is a prequel and the origin story of the iconic villain. Could be. Why not? Sure seems like an upbringing that would create a psychopath.
Far Cry 6 is set for release on 18 February 2021 for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and next-gen consoles.
