Celebrate 40 years of Pac-Man with the Gorillaz

Bandai Namco is celebrating Pac-Man’s 40th anniversary with a new music video from the Gorillaz.

PAC-MAN featuring ScHoolboy Q is the fifth episode in the Gorillaz’ Song Machine series and was created in partnership with Bandai Namco to celebrate 40 years of Pac-Man. Song Machine is the virtual band’s latest project that aims to release new songs every month featuring different guest artists.

Pac-Man was unleashed on the world’s arcades in July 1980 and has become one of the top-grossing video game franchises in history. As of 2016, the various incarnations of the game have racked up an estimated $14.107 billion in lifetime revenue. That’s a lot of fruit.

The Gorillaz x Pac-Man team up doesn’t seem to make a whole lot of sense, but it sure feels good.
