This time, it’s because Robert Pattinson, apparently, tested positive for the virus just days after work on The Batman resumed.
Now, Warner Bros. hasn’t specifically said it’s because Pattinson has the virus, but Vanity Fair sources confirmed that he is the “member of The Batman production” Warner Bros. referenced in their public statement on the matter.
A member of The Batman production has tested positive for Covid-19, and is isolating in accordance with established protocols. Filming is temporarily paused.
Production on The Batman, taking place at studios outside London, had just started up again after previously being shut down, along with the rest of the global entertainment industry, when lockdowns first started coming into practice in March this year. Hopefully Pattinson will come out of this all right, for human empathic reasons, but also because The Batman is actually looking quite good.
The Batman is currently due to release on 1 October 2021. Warner Bros. has not mentioned if this pause on production will cause further delays.
