The Stand Series

Get a glimpse into the pandemic post-apocalypse with the latest trailer for The Stand

Finally, a proper look at the TV adaptation of Stephen King’s The Stand.

The majority of the human population has been killed off by a flu pandemic and the Dark Man is here to finish the job unless a plucky band of survivors can resist his wiles.

No, it’s not going to be exactly like the book. Just give up on that idea right now. For one, Stephen King wrote a new ending for the TV series. Which will be the third ending he’s come up with for for the story, so there’s that. Then, the uncut version of The Stand is a beast at 1472 pages. It’s safe to say that some things will not make it to the screen.

Adaptations of King’s work are pretty hit-and-miss, but I’m looking forward to this one. Also, if The Stand succeeds, maybe someone will have another go at The Dark Tower.

The Stand is set to premiere on 17 December 2020.
