Huntkey, An Absolute Power House at Computex 2024

When on the hunt for a new power supply in South Africa, you would have most certainly come across the Huntkey brand.

But were you aware that Huntkey also creates other PC components? With a focus on quality and affordability, Huntkey offers a range of power supplies, liquid and air coolers, PC cases and gaming monitors.

They even own a gaming brand, MVP Land, focused on peripherals for PC gamers. What we got a glimpse of at Computex this year has me hoping that more of their product range starts showing up in our South African stores.

The booth had a gaming rig setup, utilising most of the Huntkey product range, and I could easily picture a setup just like it at home. Once you see what our favourite picks from the booth this year were, I’m pretty sure you could, too.

So, by finally letting you go from the edge of your seats, here are our top picks from the Huntkey and MVP Land booth at Computex this year:

VS970 Skyfall Full View PC Case:

This case from Huntkey is called the Skyfall for two reasons. One, it’s been approved by James Bond himself, and two, the stunning 3-glass display gives you the ultimate view of the inside of your chassis. It features a dual-chamber design, allowing you to hide your power supply and all the cables and has a side mount for a 360mm AIO or up to 3 120mm fans. For a dual-chamber design, it’s relatively compact, too, at 425x280x439mm, meaning it won’t hog most of your desk space either. It also comes in both black and white colourways.

MVP V360 Liquid Cooler:

The MVP V360 Cooler is a 3-fan AIO with a built-in IPS display. I’m a sucker for AIOs with displays on them as I like to get distracted by little chibi’s dancing around inside my PC case. The display is gravity adaptive, meaning it will auto-rotate the display depending on how it is mounted on the CPU. It also has a 640x480DPI resolution, making it the clearest among the current markets’ integrated AIO displays. With a 500MB cache and MP4/AVI compatibility, the customization options are endless. A toolless buckle design has been used to ensure an easy, user-friendly mount, and all the fans are PWM, capable of speeds between 800 and 2,000 RPM. It comes it both black and white colourways, suitable for all rig aesthetics.

MVP120 Eye of the Storm Cooling Fans:

Adapting the latest in Quick Pin or magnetic pin connections, Huntkeys MVP Land 120mm Eye of the Storm fans provide users with quick and easy installation for their cooling, where only one cable is required to power a cluster of fans. The fans feature ARGB lighting, providing a full array of colours and colour patterns that are controllable by your motherboard, and they have a mirror effect design which sucks you right in, like the Windows Media Player Visualisations of old.

MVP P1200 Power Supply:

The MVP P1200 is an absolute powerhouse, providing 1200W of pure power, while still being 80Plus Platinum certified. The platinum certification means it’s capable of 92% energy efficiency at high loads, saving power loads and reducing carbon emissions. It is ATX3.1 complainant and features a PCIE5.1 connector block for the latest generation of GPUs and peripherals. The modular design allows for a neater PC build, where you don’t have to have unused connectors attached, and it features an intelligent fanless mode that will reduce noise from the PSU while the temperature and/or power load of the PSU are low.

IP2050G Power Supply:

As AI starts devouring the market, users are requiring more and more resources for their graphic design, AI computing and workstation environments. The IP2050G, or as Huntkey likes to call it, the Heavy Firepower IP2050G, is here to lend a heavy hand. Featuring over 2000W of power, this power supply is capable of supporting multiple SATA hard drives while simultaneously powering up to two RTX 4090 GPUs at full power via PCIE5.1 connections; it also supports dual CPU workstations. This Huntkey power supply also boasts an 80Plus Gold energy efficiency rating.
