The Three Cameras We Use To Take The Perfect Shot

As a media house, it makes sense that we would pack some serious camera gear to ensure that we capture the perfect photo and video, no matter what we’re doing.

Sure, our mobile phones have taken a pretty dominant spot here, with their built-in stabilisation and great lenses, but there are more times we can count on all seven of Len’s hands where we’ve just needed something with a little more purpose.

So, from the Sony Alpha a7S III to the Fujifilm Wide 400, here are three cameras we always use to grab the best shot:

When it comes to major expos and events, you’ll always find Mr Editor-in-Charge, Regardt, running around with this bad boy securely hanging around his neck.

This battle-hardened camera has seen us through many events and video shoots.

It’s by far one of the best cameras we’ve ever used, and it shoots the most incredible 4K video.

Paired with the right lenses, this is a fantastic all-round video shooter. It does not come cheap, but if you need cinema-grade quality, you can’t go wrong here, even if you still shoot in auto mode.

We were lucky enough to have the Insta360 X4 to play around with in the office, and it impressed us so much that we scored it a massive 98/100.

Its smart candy bar design, impressive and rugged outershell, and 8K capabilities had us sending Regardt mout on his bike more times than we’d like to admit.

The X5 takes everything we loved about the X4 and improves on it, with a better battery life, a larger sensor for improved lighting and user-replaceable lenses, this is definitely the action camera you need.

We have a great fondness for all things retro here at NAG, and photography is one of those elements too.

With the Instax Wide 400, we’re seamlessly blending the modern-day world with instant, high-quality photographs like the 80s.

We love the Instax Wide 400 for its simplicity. It’s an easy to use point and shoot camera with just one button, the shutter.

One click, and just minutes later, you’ve got yourself a wide-format photograph ready to hand out to your friends, stick onto your fridge or ask Faker to sign.

So, whether you’re looking to take videography seriously, get some epic clips of your life outside of the gaming world, or just produce instant high-quality photos of your friends and family, these are the three cameras we love using at NAG, and we think you’ll love them too.
