Ubisoft has dropped a trailer for the first of Far Cry 5’s three expansions, in which Hope County local boy Wendell “Red” Redler must save his squad from the the bad guys… in Vietnam. Presumably without the help of Hurk’s mom’s helicopter, which feels like a missed opportunity for some Flight of the Valkyries, but it’s got bombing airstrikes so I’ll take that as a consolation prize.
In spite of various controversies over the theme, and a lone writer voted Best Content Creator 2018 by his mom stating he’d never buy a Ubisoft title again, Far Cry 5 sales numbers are in – and they’re a far cry from bad (huehue).
Far Cry 5 has been one of Ubisoft’s most popular games this year, and it’s been selling like gangbusters. Far Cry 5’s success naturally attracted cracking groups like CPY to circumvent the game’s protection, a task that was made much easier thanks to their efforts in cracking Assassin’s Creed Origins. Surprise! Denuvo’s version of copy protection on Far Cry 5 was cracked last month, and it didn’t take long at all.
