The good news, if you’re into digital card games with a goblins and beards flavour, is that Blizzard will continue supporting Hearthstone next year with three full expansions spread throughout the year. The bad news, though, is that Adventures are well and truly scrapped, for the foreseeable future at least.
When Blizzard’s Battle.net app arrived, we all agreed with Tarryn – “besides stalking and talking, there’s not much else you can do with it”. But now, the app has a redeeming feature for those with a giving heart. Yes, it’s all about the new gifting function, allowing you to send Blizzard-related digital goodies to your friends.
Early last month, Blizzard announced that Hearthstone‘s next expansion will be all about the Lich King and his band of intimidating Death Knights. Alongside that announcement came the news that the pack will add 135 new cards, including new “hero cards” which turn your hero into a Death Knight that comes with a battle cry, some sweet armour, and a shiny new power. The expansion will also introduce new single-player missions and some other cool stuff.
What that original announcement failed to mention was when we’d be able to get our hands on Knights of the Frozen Throne – but thanks to a new post on the game’s official page, we now know it’ll be out on 10 August (i.e. this Thursday).
Local sports and games broadcaster Kwesé has announced its Hearthstone Fireside Gathering competition at the upcoming Rush esports expo, with R30,000 in cash prizes and an MSI gaming laptop up for the win.
