Last week Blizzard revealed that Heroes of the Storm‘s next champ will be Garrosh Hellscream and that he will “devastate all those who stand against him in the Nexus”. Unfortunately, the developer didn’t give us much else to go on. Until now. Two videos have since been uploaded to the game’s YouTube channel, the first being Garrosh’s very own spotlight trailer featuring his various abilities and suggestions on how to play him. The second one shows off some of the cool skins, mounts, and other cool stuff currently in the works at HOTS HQ.
It’s been quite some time since a new Warcraft character was added to Heroes of the Storm – the last one being Valeera Sanguinar back in January – so Blizzard announcing that the game’s next hero will be the hot-headed orc and disgraced former Warchief of the Warsong clan Garrosh Hellscream is a welcome surprise.
The announcement comes via a tweet from the game’s official account, which includes a short GIF of the character, and reads: “Lok’Tar Ogar, Heroes! Garrosh, Son of Hellscream, will soon devastate all those who stand against him in the Nexus!” The developer hasn’t really revealed much else about the hero, but we can expect him to be added to the game’s PTR during “the week of July 31“.
Heroes of the Storm has a fairly tame roster of support characters, including a panda, a monk, and a frog cosplaying as a “dragon”. Most of them are essential to any good team composition, but they’re not exactly… intimidating. Thankfully, it looks like the class will be getting some much-needed attitude when Starcraft‘s “Infested Admiral” enters the nexus.
It feels like forever ago that Blizzard announced Malthael from Diablo III: Reaper of Souls would be making his (its?) way into the Nexus, but it was actually only like a week ago. He’s been playable in the game’s PTR ever since he was announced, but he was only recently added to Heroes of the Storm‘s official roster.
Malthael is an assassin who relies heavily on his Reaper’s Mark trait, which is applied to enemies via basic attacks and certain abilities and lasts four seconds. The mark reveals enemies for four seconds and deals 2.5% of their health as damage every second it’s active, making him killer (lol) versus high health enemies. He also looks supremely badass.
