It’s honestly amazing how fast 2017 has flown by. Amidst all the recent headlines about loot boxes and gambling legislation, December kind of sneaked up on me. And what better way to celebrate the most festive month of the year than with free PS Plus games? The latest batch of free games has been announced, and one of them is to die for.

Because it stars Death. Get it? According to the PlayStation blog, the starring act of PS Plus for December is Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition for PS4 – a game I’ve been considering buying, but am now glad I didn’t, because free. Unfortunately, the rest of the offering isn’t quite so exciting. Also on PS4 is Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends, a Smash Bros. clone with poor production values and a 63% average on Metacritic. Still, it might entertain younger players, or make for a good drinking game.

PS3 users will receive Syberia Collection and XBlaze Lost: Memories, while PS Vita owners get Forma.8 and Wanted Corp. As for other free stuff, it’s been confirmed that Until Dawn: Rush of Blood for PSVR and That’s You! for PS4 can also be downloaded at any time in December. In the final bit of PS Plus news, active subscribers will be allowed to participate in the Monster Hunter: World beta from 9 to 12 December.

As always, an active PS Plus subscription is needed to access these offerings, and last month’s games will still be redeemable until 5 December.
