rAge 2018 is just a few short months away, and with it comes the ever-popular NAG LAN, where thousands of humans cram into the Ticketpro Dome with their PCs and consoles to play games, be merry and do shenanigans throughout rAge weekend.

We’re making a few changes to the layout and structure of the LAN this year, and as such there’ll be changes to how you’ll need to go about booking your tickets at Computicket.

All the info is below the break. If you’re planning on attending the LAN, then GET READIN’.

Important information and changes in the NAG LAN

As it is our 16th year of rAge and the NAG LAN, there’s no better time for change than a sweet 16! Over the years, we’ve noticed a variety of tastes when it comes to the NAG LAN experience, and this year we’ve tried to cater for all of those tastes. So before you head off to Computicket to purchase your NAG LAN ticket/s, there is some VERY important information you need to know before doing so.

  • Tickets go on sale: Saturday 28 July 2018 at 09h00
  • Ticket price: R700 per person which includes access to rAge expo for all three days
  • Ticket purchase: Computicket online and in-store (Checkers)

When purchasing your tickets on Computicket, you will have the option to select which NAG LAN experience you want, based on the features in each area. There are three separate areas for the NAG LAN:

  • NAG LAN Mezzanine [Green] – located on the upper level overlooking the main show floor at Entrance 2
  • NAG LAN Blue Wing [Blue] – located on the ground floor adjacent to the main show floor at Entrance 9
  • NAG LAN Banqueting [Yellow] – located downstairs one floor beneath ground level at Entrance 8

The floor plan below shows the new layout and areas of the NAG LAN and will better assist you in selecting your preferred area:

NAG LAN Mezzanine [Green]

  • Available seats: 796
  • Parking: Parking Blocks A and B (see Precinct Map below)
  • Entrance: Entrance 2, from the big ramp

Features: Because this area is on the upper level overlooking the main expo show floor, during the day the gamers can expect a significant amount of loud noise coming from the expo itself, but once the expo closes this area does become significantly quieter. There’s air-conditioning, but this area is not carpeted, and the chairs are plastic.

NAG LAN Blue Wing [Blue]

  • Available seats: 436
  • Parking: Parking Blocks A and B (see Precinct Map below)
  • Entrance: Entrance 9

Features: The area is situated in the new conference wing and is located on the ground level adjacent to the main expo show floor. This area is suitable for gamers that want the best of both worlds, giving you some seclusion from the noise while still enjoying some of the vibe from the show floor. There’s air-conditioning, this area is fully carpeted, and the chairs are plastic.

NAG LAN Banqueting [Yellow]

  • Available seats: 508
  • Parking: Parking Blocks A and B (see Precinct Map below)
  • Entrance: Entrance 8

Features: This area is situated downstairs, one level below the main expo show floor. This area is suitable for gamers that want a completely secluded LAN experience without any noise from the show floor. There’s air-conditioning, this area is fully carpeted, and the chairs are fully padded on the base and the back rest.

Other things to take note of

  1. All NAG LAN wristbands will be colour coded to each area. Please note that you will have access to all three LAN areas if you have a NAG LAN wristband, so you don’t need to worry if you and your friends are in different areas and you want to go visit them.
  2. Access to the rAge show floor from all three LAN areas is easy provided you are wearing your NAG LAN wristband.
  3. All LAN gamers will be able to make use of the shower facilities in the designated parking area (bottom right pink block on the precinct map below), and the showers are easily accessible from all three LAN areas. Gamers in the Mezzanine area (green) and Blue Wing area (blue) will walk down the demarcated staircases in their relevant areas (please see map) to the exit and then follow the path that is marked on the map with pink footsteps to get to the shower area.
  4. Please also take note that we have stipulated the clutter-free zones in each area. LANners may not store their belongings, sleep or rest in these areas as they are designated safety exit areas, and are to be kept vacant at all time. All gamers in all areas are to sleep at, next to or under their desks. Gamers in all three areas will not be disturbed while sleeping or asked to wake up at certain times.
  5. Lockers to secure your valuables will be provided in each area, however you will be required to bring your own lock and key with you.
  6. Upon arrival at the venue please check your NAG LAN ticket and take note of which entrance you need to be at, as you won’t be able to check in at any other entrance other than the one that is stipulated on your ticket.
  7. Please ensure that you have read the FAQ here – http://www.nag.co.za/forums/showthread.php?21287-FAQ-NAG-LAN
