BioWare has made a lot of mistakes, but keeping the “probing Uranus” joke in the Mass Effect Legendary Edition isn’t one of them

Probing Uranus. Get it? Like, you know, for science.

Mass Effect 2 introduced a new space mining feature, which mostly involved launching probes into planets to suck up resources because, even in the future, humans are casually indifferent to the ecological consequences of that sort of thing. We’re totally the worst like that. Visit Uranus, for example, and according to the Normandy SR-2’s scanner, it’s “depleted”. Mostly depleted, I mean. It’s got one joke left.

You’ve got to love EDI’s “Really, commander?”, like that’s going to stop you. It’s even funnier if you remember that EDI is voiced by Battlestar Galactica’s Tricia Helfer. Really, Number Six? You banged Colonel Tigh, you don’t get to talk to me like that. Shut up and probe Uranus.
