Dubium, 5-man Co-op, Announces Early Access Release Date

Alright Among Us fans, it’s about time we upgraded our survival-sim-traitor-discovering-social-experiment gameplay from two-legged space masks with finger guns to something with a little more kick.

Dubium, initially set for launch in 2022 has finally given us a release date, yes it is an Early Access release date, but it helps to be a beta tester once in a while, doesn’t it?

On the 14th of June 2023, players will be able to take on Dubium—a 5-player survival deception game set in the near future. Players will either take on the role of Frontier, where they are expected to carry out certain tasks on an abandoned spacecraft, or they will be the Traitor, a character chosen at random and what seems to be chosen multiple times during one play through, where your main goal is to deceive all the other players in the game and get out alive.

Each playable character has a different playstyle from the rest, adding a little bit of a “hero select” element to the deception in-game.

The Early Access announcement trailer gives us a taste of the humour the game will have on offer. I detect Evil Genius’s inspiration here.

The Steam Next Fest Trailer allows us to see how the game will actually be played.

The development team is confident they’ve got most of the kinks ironed out for the Early Access release on the 14th, so I hope it moves on to version 1.0 relatively quickly.

Dubium can be wish-listed before releasing on Steam here.
