Streamers, are you ready for something new?
Obskur is the first streaming platform built on Unreal Engine 5.
Obskur plans to be an all-in-one platform that streamers can use to engage with their audience and manage their broadcasts, which doesn’t sound like much more than OBS or StreamLabs, but here’s where Obskur sets itself apart.
Utilising the UE5 engine, streamers will be able to create virtual environments that they can place themselves into that can be pushed out to stream. Without the need of any 3D modelling experience, you can build a scene using items from the Obskur marketplace and place your live image inside of it.
If you’re a vTuber, then you can get even more excited because Obskur have built vTubing into their platform, so you don’t have to juggle other apps alongside your broadcasting software. You can easily import your current VRM models, and you should have the same tools that you are used to from other vTubing platforms.
Obskur has also partnered with Mocap. Mocap creates wearable tracking gear that you can wear, and the Obskur platform will track the position of your head, hands and body for an even more engaging vTubing experience for your viewers.
The team have also taken into consideration that you might already be on a streaming platform, so they included importing scenes from OBS, themes from Streamlabs and Streamdeck integration.
At the moment, it only allows streaming to Twitch, but the team seems active on their Discord and is planning to work closely with the community to build as good a platform as they can. Keep your eyes peeled on NAG for a review soon.
