XDefiant Still Not Ready For Launch

In the latter months of last year, Ubisoft gave us a little taste of their free-to-play FPS multiplayer game, XDefiant. The game smushes together all of the Ubisoft IP into it, giving us different factions, each with their own abilities, and pitting us against others in small, high-action maps, ala COD.

While the gameplay was actually quite a lot of fun, the release date of the darned game is proving to be less so.

As this article is getting published in April, it’s quite clear that the expected March 2024 release date for XDefiant has been missed. While Ubisoft didn’t explicitly announce a March release date, according to their financial update in February, it seemed as if the game would be released in the fourth financial quarter, which ended in March.

However, the official XDefiant X account dropped an update stating that the team wanted to do one last server stress test before locking in an officially official release date for the shooter.

The trouble is, there’s no date yet for the planned 12-hour server stress test, which also means the release of the game is really up in the air, and the longer it takes to launch, the more gamers will find themselves enjoying other new FPS shooters, like The Finals, which just launched their first major update, giving gamers a whole lot more action than they bargained for.
