Gigabyte Dominates The Floor at Computex 2024

Using my thumb as measurement and only my thumb, I’m pretty sure Gigabyte had the biggest booth at Computex. With at least 400 inches of screen up at the front of the booth and a data centre worth of racks at the back, Gigabyte certainly had a lot on display.

At one point, they even managed to get Linus to pose with one of their racks, and this is where Regardt found the opportunity to score a little fist bump from the guy.

Yet, while mission-critical server upgrades and machines big enough to house at least thirteen of your desktops inside of them give some people the tingles out there, we’re much happier with shiny new GPUs, ice-cold motherboards and screens, very big screens.

Of course, there was also a big focus on AI, and at the launch event, we also got a sneak peek at Gigabyte’s new AI Top hardware and software line. AI Top is a new utility that grants easier access to the AI world by providing a beginner-friendly platform for AI model training. A combination of new software and hardware released by Gigabyte ensures you’ll have the power you need to get your AI modelling done.

So, without further ado, here are our favourite products being released by Gigabyte in the upcoming months from Computex:

Z790 Aorus Xtreme X Ice:

This motherboard is probably something we’ll never see, touch, or smell again. It’s the creme of the crop, it’s the best of the best, it’s completely over the top, and it’s absolutely magnificent. There will only be 300 of these boards, and it features an all-white PCB with EZ-latch buttons on everything, from the RAM to the GPU. It will have a real gold plaque showing off which number board you have. Frosted cover plates are on top, crushed titanium cover plates are on the bottom, and a built-in LCD edge display shows all system information in real time, or you can use it to watch the latest Transformers movie. It’s drool-worthy tech, and even though we may never install one into our personal rigs, it was certainly something to behold.

Aorus 16X (2024 Edition):

Yes, I know there is a 17-inch version of the Aorus X laptop, but the 16-inch version has an RGB light that shines the Aorus logo onto your desk, and that tops an extra inch in screen size any day. Equipped with an RTX 4070 GPU and an Intel Core i9-14900HX, this laptop packs more than enough power to handle your gaming and creating needs. Speaking of power, one of my favourite features is the ability to charge via PD3.0. Yes, you don’t need a very specific charger to power this bad boy up. It charges straight off of USB-C.

Aorus CO49DQ Gaming Monitor:

To compensate for the extra inch lost on our pick of Aorus X laptop, we fell in love with the Aorus CO49DQ Gaming Monitor. 49 whole inches of OLED gaming display perfect for, uh, work. With a resolution of 5,120 x 1,440, the monitor serves up two 16:9 displays, making multitasking a breeze. With a GTG time of 0.03 seconds and gaming features like timers, crosshairs, and Black Equalizer, highlighting darker spaces, your enemies might as well quit now. Trust us on this one, 49 inches is not too big.

GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super AI Top 16G:

AI modelling requires a lot of resources, so much so that more than one GPU is the usual scenario when it comes to developing and training your model. It will need some serious backup as it goes through trillions of operations per second. Gigabytes AI Top edition of the RTX 4070 Ti Super is designed specifically for this use case, and we just love how sleek it looks in its slimming enclosure. The enclosure allows the air to be directed through all the components while the GPU sits directly next to another card, which usually limits airflow. Cooling is further enhanced by the completely metal frame and copper cooling components, while the PCB has a more durable coating, allowing for longer runtimes under pressure.

Aorus Stealth Ice:

Of course, there was some exciting new tech for all the AMD fans out there. The new B650E AMD motherboard, appropriately called the Aorus Stealth Ice, as the entirety of the top of the board is enshrouded in white and silver, will be coming to market pretty soon. It features backside connectors for that extra clean build and will be able to house AMD’s current Ryzen 7000 and 8000 CPUs and the new upcoming Ryzen 9000 CPU series.
