Are you ready for Steve?! Well, I sure hope so, because Warner Bros has decided that a Minecraft movie is just what the world needs right now.
The teaser trailer for the Minecraft movie that was released late yesterday afternoon revealed the cubed-up world that we all know and love so much. Although Warner Bros may have turned up the graphic settings to the max because there’s much more fur than I remember.
The trailer starts by showing four characters that have been flung into another world all mysterious-like. Danielle Brooks from Orange is the New Black, Emma Myers from Netflix’s Wednesday and Sebastian Hansen an upcoming young actor, all feature as one of the four story characters. The fourth has received a bit of the Jumanji Treatment and is Jason Momoa with long blonde hair and bangs, and a pink-tasselled leather jacket, you know, to amp up the comedy.
Jack Black will play the infamous Steve, but the trailer doesn’t reveal too much about his role in the movie. So far, it seems like he may be some kind of crazed Minecraft World leader battling a Pig Army.
A Minecraft Movie is said to be released in theatres, and IMAX on the 4th of April next year, three days later than the 1st of April, confirming this is no April Fool’s joke.
Are you keen to see what the movie holds, like me? Or are you part of the fan group that is currently apologising the Minecraft Story Mode because the trailer is just too square to be cool?
I can’t believe I might have to apologise to Minecraft Story Mode https://t.co/8UzYat0SZX
