While Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon received some mixed reviews from its viewers, Netflix has decided to push more effort into the franchise by releasing a top-down, co-op game set in the same universe.
Blood Line: A Rebel Moon Game was teased during Netflix’s Geek Week, and although many will probably feather and tar me for saying this, it looks like quite a bit of fun.
The team developing the game, Super Evil Megacorp, has been given full access to Snyder’s world to ensure that the game fits nicely within the universe’s canon. This doesn’t mean that the game will follow the lines of the movies, however. Super Evil Megacorp has been given free rein to create a story of its own.
Super Evil Megacorp’s lead product manager, Samuel Hart, says the game will be a premium, action-packed mobile experience. The game will also be live-service, receiving regular updates and downloadable content through out its lifespan, and, technically, Blood Line is a free-to-play game for anyone who has a Netflix account as the game will be held within the Netflix Games environment.
You will be able to tackle the game in solo mode or with up to three other players in online co-op. Gamers can choose from one of four classes: The Banner Guard, which looks similar to a tank-type role, The Forsaken, a dual-bladed assassin, The Kindred, a long-range sniper, and The Evoker, the magic dealing support.
The game is set to launch in 2025, but you can sign up for the beta program if you’d like to give it a swing before then.
