Working in the tech industry means we get to test out quite a few cool pieces of tech, one of which is the Samsung One Connect system that removes all the ports from the back of the TV and mounts them all to a separate box that then uses one cable to deliver all the visual and audio inputs.
It’s a clean setup that just exudes minimalism.
But what if we were to take that one step further? What if we could deliver all those visual and audio signals wirelessly?
Well, LG has taken it upon themselves to face the challenge, and they’ve created the world’s first truly wireless TV… mostly.
The LG OLED77M36LA is a 77-inch OLED TV that delivers a 4K viewing experience with a 120Hz display for gaming. The kicker? The only cable you actually connect to the TV is the power cord.

Everything else connects to the Zero Connect box that you can place anywhere in the room up to 30ft away from the TV. Yup, anywhere in the room.
As long as the Zero Connect box can see the receiver at the bottom of the TV you get a lossless 4K viewing experience that takes minimalism just one step further.
To clarify, no, we haven’t been lucky enough to have one of these in our offices, yet. But we are working on it. *Wink wink LG.
So, how does it work?
Well, the Zero Connect box sends the signal to the TV over the air (OTA) via a swivel antenna on top of the box. You then connect all your devices via the three HDMI ports and one optical port to the Zero Connect box, giving you a neat, clean system that will wow every one of your house guests.
While we wait for a review unit to land at NAG HQ, check out this review from Digital Trends, where Caleb Denison thoroughly tests the OTA signals proving that LG has delivered something that could really change the future of TVs.
