Any of you who were lucky enough to grab a ticket to the NAG Retro LAN last year will already know how sweet this little mouse is, as it was one of the freebies you scored, but for everyone else, this review is for you.

The Redragon King Pro is a tri-connectivity mouse that can be used in wired mode, wireless mode via a 2.4GHz dongle, or via Bluetooth.

Tri-connectivity seems to be a common feature we’re seeing pop up in devices these days, and it really is a blessing. I love me a wireless mouse, and this one works superbly in wireless mode, with a 1KHz polling rate (that tested just fine on CPSTest.org https://cpstest.org/polling-rate-test/), but it also works just as well when plugged in via the USB-C cable. Bluetooth also gets the job done if you’re just using the mouse for a bit of work on your laptop, but I’ve never been a fan of gaming via Bluetooth because of its low polling rate.

The cable itself is also quite lightweight, which means it doesn’t necessarily feel like it’s actually plugged in. Of course, you will be tethered to your USB port, but it’s got a decent length at 1.2m.

As well as its connectivity modes, it also features a PixArt 3395 optical sensor, which allows up to 26,000 DPI. While I don’t see any use for a DPI that high, it’s handy for anyone who wants a lot of DPI to play with. At the bottom of the mouse, you’ll find a DPI switch that cycles through 5 adjustable DPI settings.

In terms of buttons, you get 5 programmable buttons, which I think is just right when it comes to buttons, being the left and right click, the scroll wheel and two thumb buttons.

All the buttons, as well as the DPI settings, can be configured in the Redragon Software. The software also lets you change the lift-off distance between 1 and 2mm, and you can program macros.

It’s simple, but it gets the job done.

By now, you would also know that I’m a huge fan of a lightweight mouse, and this one comes in pretty low at only 49g. That’s a whopping 11g lighter than my current daily driver, the Logitech Superlight Pro 2.

I can definitely feel the difference in the weight. It almost feels like I’m not really holding anything when I’m popping heads in Counter-Strike, or camping bushes in League.

The mouse itself is a bit small, so anyone with larger hands might not be a fan, but I found that for my usual finger-trip grip, it fit my hand just fine. Anyone who uses a palm grip might want something bigger.

The mouse also has a slight rubbery texture to it, which Redragon are calling a skin-friendly finish. It feels pretty grippy, and doesn’t seem to be affected too much by a bit of sweat on a hot summer’s day, and I don’t see it being the kind of finish that’ll rub off any time soon.

When it comes to battery life, Redragon doesn’t state any runtime hours on the box, but I found that I could get a full week of use out of it before needing to plug it in. Roughly, I’d estimate you could get around 100 hours of use.

The scroll wheel is also pretty decent. There’s no wobble when scrolling through any pages, and it has nice feedback when it clicks. You also really need to press the wheel down to activate the scroll button, so I never found myself accidentally tapping it, as you do with other low-cost mice.

Which brings me to the final standout point for the Redragon King Pro. It comes in at just under R700. Yup, R679 for a slick mouse that offers pretty much everything a gamer could want. Plus, it comes in black, pink, or white, to suit your setup.

Honestly, there isn’t really anything negative to say about the mouse, aside from it maybe being a little too small. It works well, has decent battery life, and it’s priced extremely well, too.

If you weren’t one of the lucky few who already bagged one of these bad boys, and you’re looking for a new mouse for 2026, that won’t hurt your budget, definitely check this one out.

BOTTOM LINE
The Redragon King Pro Wireless Gaming Mouse is just great all around. It has all the features you’d want for gaming, it’s super lightweight, and it costs a fraction of other brands out there.
